I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and work with individual clients, couples and children. I see both English and Farsi speaking clients. I have had the privilege of working with substance abuse clients and domestic violence survivors on an individual basis and in group settings, and I am certified as a domestic violence advocate by the City of Los Angeles.I also have the Certificate of Completion in PSI Perinatal Social Support Network Development and work for the Post-Partum Support international warm-line, where I assess Mothers with Post-Partum Depression and Fathers who live with their wife/partner with postpartum depression. I act accordingly – anything from crisis intervention to referrals to local agencies and mental health resources. Being raised in a different culture, and now raising my family in American culture has helped me to understand the problems of immigration, assimilation, and cross-cultural issues. This has both strengthened my desire to become a professional therapist and I believe given me useful insight and empathy in the dynamics of functional and dysfunctional family relationships.
