My name is Danielle Matthew. I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (# 38708). I learned at an early age the importance of empathy and thinking of others. Over twenty years ago, I entered the medical profession because I wanted to help people who were experiencing emotional pain. I help adolescents, adults, couples and families who are in pain due to issues such as anxiety, severe stress, low self-esteem, or depression. I have worked with individuals and groups in various settings including my private practice, outpatient, day treatment and residential. Along with my private therapy practice, I am the founder of The Empowerment Space and the author of the The Empowered Child: How to Help Families Cope, Communicate and Conquer Bullying.
I regularly give presentations to parents, students
and educators about common adolescent issues at schools and community events, and have been a guest contributor on various broadcasts and publications; including LA Mom Magazine, Washington Post and MomTalk Radio. I also provide community-based programs and presentations through Insight to Teen Culture, which include being a panelist to address issues around anxiety and depression, and facilitating a lecture on how social media effects young people.
I continue to learn from my clients and those within the community, and I am grateful for every day that I’m able to help others.
